End of Year Reflection
The End of Year Reflection section of the Unbound Planner is one of the many things I love about this product.
Fall Reset
As much as I am always sad to see summer end, I find excitement my “fall reset.”
Lentil Vegetable Soup
This week’s meal prep is a Lentil Vegetable Soup made in the slow cooker.
Paper or Kindle?
I find myself in a constant battle between “real” books and e-books. So, I recently decided to purchase a Kindle Paperwhite.
My Harry Potter Escape
I've just finished listening to the Harry Potter books on audiobook, narrated by Jim Dale. It served as an escape from the constant news of the spreading virus, the constraints on our regular lives and the losses being faced.
Tiny Home Getaway
I have a small fascination with tiny homes and we were much in need of a small getaway, so when I came across tiny home rentals in Fernie, B.C. we set off on a little adventure.
Book Review: Educated
I re-read “Educated” by Tara Westover in preparation for my book club, taking my time to try and pay attention to more detail. Educated is a memoir of Westover’s life, beginning in the mountains of Idaho with her family and continuing as she steps into the world of post-secondary education and her journey into independent adulthood.
Reading Slump
I’ve been struggling lately to do as much reading as I usually would be. I’ve gotten stuck on giving second and third chances to books I am not enjoying.
Getting The “Swing” Of Things
For many years I’ve said that I’d like to learn how to play golf and yesterday I had my first lesson!
Reinvigorating My Fitness
Exercise has always been a relatively regular part of my life, lately, I have been in a bit more of a slump in this realm of my life. So, I’m looking to get re-motivated and feeling more enthusiastic and accomplished in my workouts.
Quiet Self Care
I am beginning to incorporate some small self-care routines, maybe once a week, to create a pocket of time to practice some mindfulness more regularly.
Boundaries
“Boundaries,” a term I never even heard until I started training to be a psychologist, and now I use it countless times a week.
The Things We Cannot Say
"The Things We Cannot Say" is the first book I've read by Rimmer, it was a beautifully written story full of raw emotion.
Little Joys
It’s so important to notice the little things in our lives that bring joy. I took some time to reflect on this and came up with five things in my life that fill my heart.
Compassion in Transition
We’ve all been waiting for this moment when our lives could begin to go back to “normal.” Alberta has started re-opening stores, services, restaurants and bars, and I have to admit, I have mixed feelings. I am looking forward to seeing people in person and accessing services; however, I also feel unsettled at the prospect.
Long Distance Relationships
Generally, when we think of long-distance relationships, we think of those of the romantic type. I moved from almost one end of the country to the other nine years ago, at the time expecting to move back East. I am happy with my life here; however, this means I have many long-distance relationships.
Working From Home
I am officially working from home. I made this choice in hopes that by eliminating the constant need to be aware o fly surroundings, distance from others, and hand washing, I would reduce at least some stress.
Five Year Journal
My Unbound Five Year Journal arrived today, just in time for the start of the month!
Sooner or later, I hate to break it to you, you're gonna die, so how do you fill in the space between here and there? It's yours. Seize your space.
