Hygge

Hygge: a Danish and Norwegian word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment.

After reading “The Little Book of Hygge” by Meik Wiking, I became even more intent on creating cozy spaces and experiences in my home. In particular, I love candles; in fall and winter, I am continually lighting a candle or carrying one from room to room with me.

As this year comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on my intentions for 2020, what I will leave behind from this year and what I will carry forward. I know for certain that I will continue to nurture a home, that with the simple glow of candles, will bring myself and my husband comfort, satisfaction and intimacy.
