Reading Slump

I've been struggling lately to do as much reading as I usually would be. I think my stagnation is because I started two different books that I wasn't getting into and so I've not been drawn to be spending time on them. I always struggle to give up on a book, so I let it sit and end up not reading anything else because I'm "currently reading that one." I try to give the book a second or third chance, eventually putting it back on my bookshelf to try again later. In noting this lately, I've been trying to give myself permission a little earlier, to put the book aside and try something different, I don't want reading ever to become a chore. I think my reading challenge might be contributing in a small way to this hold up as well. The prompts I have remaining seem to be the ones I've struggled the most to find a book for, and so it feels a little like I'm forcing them into my reading. I'm reminding myself that reading is a passion of mine, the challenge is a bonus, but ultimately I need to let myself just read what I want to read.

I recently gave up on reading the two books I chose for the prompts "fiction or non-fiction book about a world leader" and "a novel based on a true story." Any suggestions for these prompts that may help to get me back on track would be happily received!
